IS Celebrates Arrival, Stall, Posters, PR Banners 31/July/2008 Over
five thousand people gave a rousing reception to Chief Justice Iftikhar
Chourdry when he came to visit Karachi on 29th July 2008. Iftikhar
was not allowed to visit Karachi by General Musharraf and MQM led government
when he came on May 12 2007 and the opposers killed 44 people on that bloody
day. Thus the 29th July 2008 visit, hurriedly arranged to
circumvent Zardari govt move to divide the Sindh High Court judges deposed by
General Musharraf on Nov 03 2007, was on a short notice of just two days. The
Chief Justice's arrival to Khi was indeed a very memorable event. The
organizers had less than three days to prepare. And keeping in mind what had
happened the last time he tried coming to khi preparing for this time was no
easy job. Hats off to Noman Qadir (who went sleepless for 2 nights), Rasheed
Razvi, Salahuddin and Awab. More Long March Ends, History made……plus some bitter
notes 16/June/2008 We returned to khi last night from the long
march. I simply cant believe that I was part of this historic event. It was
phenomenal. Leaving karachi with a big crowd. dancing in the streets of
interior sindh with jubilation. having "daal roti" on the road-side
hotels. Chanting anti-musharraf slogans everywhere we go. ignoring the
scorching heat and distributing leaflets. being showered by rose petals by
every welcoming party in sindh and punjab. More. History made at Long March 14/June/2008 History
made an entire cross section of civil society of Pakistan learned and
transformed from its own struggle against rules from above. Long march ended
today at 6 am with thousands of agitators sending a strong message to those
in corridor of power that they know how to mobilize nationwide and the next
time the rulers will not have a chance. More. From Lahore to
