July 9
We left Khi High Court at around 10.30 am. Our bus was carrying 25 members.
They were Qamar, Nasreen, Riaz, Burhan, Sartaj, Leghari, Rihana, Qurban, Lala, Asif, Azad, Ali, Ikram, Tanveer, Saad, Bangash, Shah, Noor Wali, Musafir, Akram, Tasneem, Sadiq, Iqbal, Shakeel and Moosa.
Out of the above there were 2 teachers, 1 journalist, 2 PIA workers, 2 Steel Mill workers, 8 Activists and 5 Students. The mood was upbeat and when we reached the Quaid’s Mazar and later Soharab Goth, the crowd was electrifying. So many people from the city who has witnessed 12th may and 9th april? A comrade from Thatta joined us in khi, 2 comrades joined in Hyderabad and one comrade joined in Rawalpindi. It was truly a momentous occasion as we raced towards Sukkur.
This was probably the only bus in which the passengers paid not only paid for their ticket but also for their food expenses. Students who couldn’t pay the whole fare, paid at subsidized rates. Money for this purpose was raised by a 2 week long fund raising campaign. Money was collected by International Socialist comrades from workers, activists, professionals, left sympathizers, journalists, lawyers, lawyers organizations, teachers and a large contribution from IS comrades themselves.
